A Christmas Carol
By Charles Dickens

What a production Carol was, breaking several records!  This marked the first time Stratton had attempted any version of the Dickens classic.  It also was the first time a production has sold out a week before opening - even after a Friday night performance had been added.  And 25 people must come close to matching the largest cast assembled on the stage.

Rick Woods took on four roles, transforming from opening Narrator to Bob Crachit with the removal of a coat; then adding a couple of spirits for good measure.  Most cast members had multiple roles as the tale spun along from scene to scene, done as tableaux vivants.  Jay Jannell provided delightful musical encouragement and inter-scene moods (the lucky ones got to hear his more comic versions at the New Year's brush up rehearsal).

Many of the cast were new to Stratton, including one in her first role on stage ever, who has moved on into Arsenic and Old Lace.   And all enjoyed the experience - and the challenges - of the production.
